Just washed my Escort Si the other day and noticed it going a bit pink around the old mirrors and door handles is there any way of getting the red back or am I doomed....

No you'll be fine, it just needs a good polish. Is it actually the plastic mirrors and handles that are fading? As this is pretty common. Give them a good going over with a quality abrasive polish, then polish as usual.

Yep just mirrors and handles, I'll keep on rubbing the pink bits

No probs - you may well need to use something stronger than usual though

Get some Farecla G3 or similar rubbing compound, don't forget to use polish afterwards cos if you don't it'll go pink again

 

t cut or g3 and a rotary buffer/polisher an plenty elbow grease couple of layers of a good polish
