Default drink driving

how much are you allowed to drink?

i always thought it was 1 pint (2units) for men

just heard on the radio that they were thinking of changing the law for under 25's so they could only have 1 pint?!?!?

this is already the case isn't it?

Varies from person to person but i beleive you can typically get away with about 1.5 pints now.

But personally i would never have more than 1 drink if driving, and normally stick to a half.

Ridiculous if this come into play !!!

Clear discrimination against an age group

I see just as many old codgers drink driving as young people

They just seem to get caught less often and are less likely to get pulled over because the plod seem to have a preference for pulling over youngsters

Dont have a problem with the new limit if is for EVERYONE

Kinda agree with the last comment, as all should be tested..

But, people shouldn't have a drink full stop as it is affecting them.

My opinion you shouldnt drink alcohol full stop if you plan to drive right after.

But agree with above should be same no matter what age you are.

i thought it was already that for every1 tho, just 1 pint

drink driving should be zero tollerence - if you have an alcoholic beverage, then you should not be allowed to drive

to an extent i agree, but if i decide to watch the footy on a wednesday night and drink say 2-3 bottles of Bud......then when i get up at 7.30 in the morning to drive to work there's a chance i'll still be carrying some of that alcohol, although by this time i'll be feeling absolutely no effects from it....

the law is fine as it is,people get caught ,but very rarely unfairly.....so why change??

I totally agree with this but................................

Problems start if your driving the next day after a few the night before ?

Zero tolerance would mean a hint of alcohol in your system would lead to a conviction ?

Theres also alcohol in food/medicine et ?

Im sure some counties abroad have zero tolerance, how do they deal with it ?

Not blowing my own trumpet or anything but the amount of units i consume on sat night im probably not fit to drive till tuesday
