Default Radiator position

Placing them in the rear of your vehicle, what are the pros and cons

Im talking if your vehicle is a stripped out track car but still used on the road

I see Pat Doran has this set up in his fiesta

Aggravation of twin coolant pipes front to rear , pigs to bleed properly , excess cabin temps unless you put them under the car and then theyre at the mercy of gravel traps, rubber marbles and other debris ! Loss of Fuel cell space in the boot , problems with low speed cooling and removing hot air from the boot etc....

depending on your definition of track car its a ball ache to do. If your track car also gets used as a road car on a regular basis then its more effort than its worth, fine for out and out track slags though

All that extra added weight and needing an even better pump set up is not worth it for me.

Saying that last time I crashed the front end the spot light bracket punched a hole straight through the rad and it lost 85% of its water

it also needs to be done properly otherwise the car will run hotter than before.

pats was 100% sealed and had 4 big ducts feeding it, 2 in the roof, and one in each rear quarter.

looks the shizzle tho lol

My rear quarter windows are now sealed and each one has a huge air duct into the car

half way there then lol

basically you need to capsulate the rad (is capsulate a word lol?? )

basically seal it so all airflow passes through it and not into the car itself.

it will be hotter inside as you will have hoses passing from the bay to the rad, and obviously more water will be needed.

as the tonys have said, uprated water pump is needed and depending on how its mounted you could get damage.

pats is mounted vertically as like std, witht he rear part of the boot chopped out and the shroud fitted tot he boot lid so when its closed it seals around the rad
