Veyrons do very low 10sec quarters at best IIRC.
Fucking shifts once it gets going eh!
But THIS is proper fast for a "normal" (ie no spaceframed funny car) motor tho... 0-186mph in 8.4secs...

However, what significance does it have on a thread about the Veyron??!! Hardly comparable.

Not being funny (especially as several of you will know I share the same opinion as "Evo" regarding the Veyron)
But that video looks doctored. Like they've deliberately sped up the mid section. For comparison watch some vids from Bruntingthorpe of the (various) Norris Evo's, Kiddells GTR or Hadlands Escos. All very quick to 60/100 they dont look as fast as the Bug does. Also the screeching of tyres seems off to me.

Anyhow, I'll quote from the current Evo magazine, as I agree 100% with it.
'Progress has bought us faster supercars than the f1. It has also bought us more exploitable supercars than the f1. Thanks to Bugatti we now have a faster and more exploitable supercar in one extraordinary package. Trouble is, compared with the Mclaren the end result is almost entirely passionless.
Of course, being hurled down the road by 1000bhp is an extraordinary sensation, but rather like riding a rollercoaster, it requires no skill to experience. You simply strap yourself in, scream a lot, then emerge feeling mildly nauseous. VW climbed an engineering Everest to create the fastest and most usable supercar the world has ever seen. what a shame they never thought to take in the view on the way to the summit

I also recommend you buy the magazine, as its a good one this month Bug vs Zonda vs Enzo vs CGT Then F1 vs Bug

Erm, that'll be a big 'N-O' then!!
The taking in the "taking in the view" comment is very single minded IMO.
VW produced the car to show what they could do. They never set of to design and engineer a drivers car, they did that back in the 70`s.
What they have done is amazing, the story on the gear box alone in absoultely crazy!
But, then that depends on your definition of a super car.
Personally I think the Veyron has laid down the bench mark in supercars which anything even near same league will be rated against.
Then I doubt anything will be able to walk the gaunlet VW have laid down (not for some time I dount anyway).
If you want a "purist" drivers car your would buy a sports car. e.g. Exige
My two cents worth.
Rich.
