Hi, I need to find out who can make a custom flywheel to mate a cosworth engine with the mtx75 (rs2000 4x4) gearbox. Can anyone help? cheers carl

 

I beleive the 2 mate together fine as standard!

Cosworth YB uses a 240mm flywheel yeah?

Who has told you that a custom flywheel is needed?

 

The engine and gear box bolt together its just the flywheel thats the problem, I.E
1. Cosworth flywheel to big and dosen't fit inside the MTX75 box
2. RS2K flywheel doesn't bolt to the Cosworth crank as it has more bolt holes than the RS2K.

So yes he would need a custom flywheel

 

Would modifing the rs2k flywheel do the job? Would it be strong enough?
I still dont know where to get one made or how much it will cost.
If I can get one made then I should be able to do the conversion fairly cheaply. If I say around £2500, not including a rolling road and set up. It would be just to get the engine in and manifolds done. I will be fitting the engine and doing all the work as I have all the equipment to do the job.
Thanks all for your input and this may take a little while to do but when its finished I would like to get 300 BHP as I dont want to ty and push the rest of the car too far and break something! cheers carl

theres a black fiesta turbo on e,bay now, with a cosworth engine in, front wheel drive, thats on a ib5 type box,so must fit with mods,

 

Thats right.
AVA did the conversion so you could give them a ring.
