Hello all

i changed my breather pipe today and the dam thing wont start
i have checked all breather pipes and clips,
it starts for a 2nd then switches off again.

any ideas

 

well, seeing as you've disturbed it, a breather system air leak is your first thing to checl. Oil cap not dislodged or anything?

First check in this situation, is to see if the metering flap is moving as it should be while crancking.

yes the metering flap is moving when cranking i have checked all boost/breather pipes and clips, but still to no joy
oil cap is on tight

 

it could be you had a leak - and now you haven't, so she's running too rich.

It's trial and error. Get someone to crank it over, and you press the metering flap down a littler more, and see if she fires.

 

All sorted now

was the bloody fuel pump relay in the end
we bridged the wires so that the fuel pump runs of the ignition and
it fired up straight away, will be getting a new relay tomorow
