nothing major, just things like exhaust manifolds, systems, inlet mods?, bluefin? things like that?

what sort of gains can be expected?

would it be easier/cheaper just to go for a puma engine?

If you have a black top Zetec-SE, then Shawspeed are your boys for tuning it.. (www.shawspeed.com)

Piper, Pro-tech, Miltek and Ashley all make exhaust manifolds for the Zetec-S.

Some people stick a Puma inlet manifold on, but tbh, I've yet to see it makes that much difference..

Bluefin causes pinking on engines with exhaust manifold, chip, cams etc. (apparently.)

Probably best going with a live map if you're going for cams.

A decent set of cams, propper mapping, exhaust manifold and panel filter should see you about 130-140 bhp.

i havent bought one yet, but it'll be a 2000/2001 plate Mk5.

your plan sounds like a good one though, 130bhp or so would be excellent

 

thats what im going for, set of cams+pulleys, chipped, remapped, 4-2-1 with sports cat, filter and maybe some headwork...hope to hit 150bhp.

 

just blow my one up bottom ends nocking big time was running 125bhp

my 1.25 is on the way out at 91thou....so ive just got a 1.6zs for it.
thinking of turboing it.....but i have no idea how it would be done.
