So there's me, hammering the hubs to drive them onto the bottom of the front struts. Get them all the way in, and then.... the pinch bolt doesn't go through. Look like i put them in too far. BUT.... My Monro's go in all the way to the taper. If you do that with these Koni's, thecut out for the pinch bolt fowls it.
So, do Koni's not normally sit flush against the taper?
Rick.

man think u need to explaine a bit batter tbh , ive konis didnt put them in that long ago either so its pretty fresh in my mind....why are uu hammering the hubs to get them to fit the shocks???????
get a trolley jack under the hubs and jack it to to the base of the shock and then line it all up put a load of presure on it and lightly tap the huib(shouldnt need to beat it to death lol) and the shock will go in the wee cut out lines up with the bolt , then puut the both in u might need to adjust it slighty but nothing major and wind her home ...its easy bro tbh just take your time and use a bitta force

usually i have to tap the hub back down a bit to get the bolt through, so i dont think they do sit flush.
you should have been given a white plastic screw cap to turn them, it sits on top of the strut so you can either stiffen or soften them.
sorry to hijack but how do you adjust konis? mine has got a little metal thing sticking up out of em and iv never adjusted em.
mine didnt go all the way down to the taper either. just sent them into the hub till the bolt went thru.
like iamrab said just take your time and use a jack and the wait of the car to join them together. a little grease usuallly helps too!!!

i did use a jack - got no problem getting them in
I've got 2 sets of fronts here, and the first go all the way in.... I've elongated the hole for the bolt, and pushed them all the way home, as this makes much more sense. The car sits too high if they're not in all the way. Bizzare.
