Default Trackday yesterday at Bedford......

Just thought I'd post up a little stuff about the trackday I did yesterday.

Basically went along as an additional driver in my mate's car, and had the chance to grab some rides in some properly fast cars! That GT3 is insanely fast!

Turned up with a coulpe of MR2 turbos to be greeted with a lovely car park.

Bit from the post I put on the other forum:

The car park, as you will see from the pics, was any true petrolhead's dream. No stick on bodykits, big spoilers and ridiculous alloys here - just pure focused driver's cars all round. There were approximately four Elises, three Exiges, one Lotus 340R, two E46 M3s, two RS4s (one MTM tuned), a TVR, two 996 turbos, two GT3s including one with the factory clubsport cage, seats, a few other Carreras and odds and sods, and of course, the 360 Spyder!
Also had a HUGE spin, with me NOT driving!

Then had another session out in B's car, with me as passenger. She really started getting the hang of it, pushing nicely through turns 2 and 3 and getting the car to flow from corner to corner, and not simply attacking each corner as an individual effort. Of course, something had to give, and on about the third lap, really flying, we came in to the final corner hard in 3rd, but a little too shallow on the entry. Too much lock getting round the corner and a touch too much throttle, and round she went at a good 80+mph! Two complete revolutions, and we hit the infield grass, accelerating towards the crash barrier with alarming pace! Fortunately, Bedford have a superbly placed gravel trap, and we plughed into it, scrubbing off all the speed, and stopping approximately 4 feet short of the barrier! Everyone came running over to see if we were all okay, as it was a huge spin - one of the biggest I've been a passenger in, but B took it all in her stride, not realising just how close it could have been!

The yellow GT3 was just a normal one.

The one I didn't get a photo of was silver with the cage, buckets etc....

So fast!

I know - such a joy, especially when the standard of driving is so good as well!
