Anyway was loading the stuff into the back of the van while the guy was looking for the metering unit got engine/loom/suspension ect into the back of the van and he hands me a weird looking metering unit along with the rs turbo one aswell I said what’s that he goes to me ah that’s off a audi he said they are supposed to be better than the rs turbo standard units make's the car run much better?

In most cases - no! The geometry of the funnel, the diameter of the plate, the metering unit itself - everything is made to fit the specific engine. Just because the Audi might have more engine capacity or more horsepower - metering unit (parts) are not automatically "better".

Same with 105 hp XR3i <-> 130 hp Golf GTI MK2 metering units!
