theres a site that used to do this service for free i think they advertised here were called something like freevehicle chech or something.

I think the DVLA do a free one but it not a very detailed one.... But dont quote me on this

 

there was one advertised here on this site, u needed to give ur email address etc type the car details in and then u get a link sent to your email address which u press and it states the hpi check details i.e not recorded, etc etc...
