Yesterday, I had my Train Driver assessment at the EWS training center in Doncaster.

I'm pleased to say I passed it with nearly top marks

Only problem is now, the E30 has to go, but that is advertised in the for sale area ( https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=220128 )
I've heard on the grapevine that there is a training course starting in December and I may well be on that

Thats a lot mor money than lil commuter trains too innit? And even they are like 30k+ a year to drive once a years training is done!

at the moment, I have a silver BMW 520i SE on a 91 J plate, and that is going aswell, then its diesel shitbox time for a year again

 

I don't understand the reason why you have to sell the E30 when you will end up earning a reasonable salary at the end of the training ?

i don't want outgoings like loans and other crap, running a cheepo diesel car will be more than adequate for me over the next year

However, I hope to work for Freightliner in a few years time - basic for them boys is £38k for 1056 hours a year, anything over the contracted 1056 hours is banked and you receive a cheque at the end of the year - its not unheard of for drivers there to receive a cheque for £25000

No wonder they are all driving round in brand new porche's, audi's and bmw's

Well done, i got to the last 32 for 20 jobs with Arriva Trains about 3 years ago, never seen any jobs advertised since though in the Rail Sector

 

I fucking PASSED all the bloody 3 days of tests for Wessex about 3yrs ago, and they said its so hard anyone who passes will get the job, as almost everyone fails.

Unfortunatley 2 more people passed than they had room for, never happened before, so I lost out.

GUTTED 30k+ job out the window after all that...
