been looking at houses for a while but havent been able to find something that is suitable for my needs.
i have been looking to find one with suitable parking for 6-8 cars with a garage so i could move my car sales business from the unit i currently rent(dead money) and work from home concentrating on just car sales and knocking the used spares on the head and just do small jobs from home as i have a mate with a garage who does jobs for me cheap so i could use him more.
just been to look at one that we have driven past virtually every day and not realised its potential.i can park 8 cars there without upsetting anyone and it has a decent ish garage.
now its reality check time though as we curently only have a small mortgage so havent had to really worry about money, but we want a better house in abetter area for the kids, which this is.
so now the question is do i keep the rs500 or sell it the cash would come in handy and get a sapph which is not the end of the world.
also now have to decide wether its worth it to knock the used parts on the head and the workshop and can i just live on car sales(which to be fair is probably 85% of my work now).i would be using the £400 rent,£150 rates,£350 wages to the lad who helps(!) me out at mo,plus elec bills per month towards the new house.
i would be getting some cash back via the sale of all my parts and garage equipment, which would help, but i have always said if i needed to i wouldnt hesitate to sell the rs500 if i needed to.i suppose you have to make these sacrifices if you want a better standard of living.
looks like ill be talking the the financial advisor this week

You can always buy another RS500 at a later date when finances improve.
Youve just got wiegh up the importance of this new house versus your RS500.
Do whatevers best for those you care about.
I'd buy the house!!

Take the house mate, at the end of the day it's to provide a better life for you and your family and a better future for your kids. If business is good in 12 months time then I'm sure you can buy another 500.
Good luck

Oh the heart-ache! The tragedy of it!!! House or RS500!
How could one POSSIBLY make a decision(sp) like that?!?!?
------------------------
Simple - fuck the car off and get a house for crying out loud! It's a car - is all!
I dunno - I can't even afford to rent, and you're getting cut up over whether to keep your RS500 and stay in your current house, or buy a bigger house and trade the RS500 in for a Saph... Oh my, the horror of it all.... Could be a lot worse pal

but now we have seen this house, reality comes in to play.
im sure many other cossie owners go through the same ordeal as i have with thier cars-some on a daily basis "should i sell or shopuld i keep it"
i think it just goes with owning cossies.this is a ford forum isnt it,so surely i can mention about wether i should keep it or not as many times as i want.
ive just spent half an hour putting it on ebay-feel quite sick but at the end of the day it is only a car and if everything goes to plan-ill be able to buy another in the future.

anyway, who says it will sell for what i would want for it...........
then i may have to consider putting the old original engine back in and selling off all the goodies seperately......
or maybe this house will not go ahead for whatever reason(only viewed it tonight).maybe wont get a mortgage being self employed and all that.......just take it day by day i think

there are of course a lot of other factors like we have to sell our house,we have to arrange a mortgage, etc etc...fuckin hate moving houses as its such a pain but i have a 2 year old little girl and i want the best for her-ie schooling etc and she comes before any car(although she loves going fast in "daddys car").
ill see what happens with it all.....

If it was me, id have to say sadly and say sell the 500 mate
Have to look to the future theses days, especially the kids. Can always get another one at a later date, you never no whats round the next corner.
Good luck with what you decide.

Sell it M8, simple as.
i just told someone off here earlier today my priorities.
1st Familly, 2nd work and lastly 3rd the car.
with out either of the 1st 2 the 3rd wouldnt be possible (for me anyway)
Sounds like the house is just what you need for both Familly and work so just go for it
Best of luck with the decision M8.
