PRO 5000+ 6 piston race calipers.
Light weight racing calipers.
Low profile design to allow greater caliper clearance under smaller wheels.
4lb anti-knockback springs fitted.
Radial mounted, 180.0mm centres, 45.8mm offset.
To suit 355x32mm upto 380x36mm discs.

Although these are Leading calipers (caliper mounted in front of the axle), the fluid cross over tubes can be swopped over with the bleed screws to give trailing calipers (caliper mounted behind the axle). A new pair of cross over tubes cost approximately £30 or I can supply these calipers as trailing calipers for an additional £50 (please allow atleast 7 days).

Pagid RS4-2 (Blue) pads.
CP3894, D54, 18mm wide.

AP Discs:
378mm diameter x 36mm wide discs.
D55 (55mm pad depth).
48 spiral vanes.

You're the 3rd person to ask about fitment under Rondells on an Escos

18" rondells will be either very close or they might not fit.

If a cardboard template of the inside of your wheel is made up I could tell you 100% if they fit or not or you could make up a template from the caliper installation drawing thats on AP's website and try it inside the wheel yourself, let me know if you want any help with this.

Ideally you would need either 18" motorsport or 19" road wheels but a template is the only way of knowing for sure!

a mate has 362 discs with ap calipers and they clear by about 3mm

If your mate uses CP7040 or CP5555 road calipers and theres only 3mm of radial clearance then yes these calipers with a 3mm lower radial profile would only fit under 18" Rondells with 368mm discs

I have some other AP race 6pots with a considerably lower profile and therefore will probably fit under 18" Rondells with 378's, if not I can either reduce the discs to 375mm or use 355's instead.

Unfortunately these will be sold as part of a front and rear kit (you'll need a hydraulic handbrake though):

AP 6piston/6pad race calipers, titanium air gap pistons, Metal Matrix Composite monoblock body.

AP 4piston/2pad race calipers, titanium pistons, water cooled, small piston area for correct rear brake balance.

Either 378x32mm or 355x32mm AP floating discs BOTH front and rear

i have a pic of my new style mo's over 356mm 6 pots



there is a bit more room than what you see in the pic but it would be get a bell & check properly.

 

It's not the same type of calipers as the ones you are sellingI'm unsure which ones he uses

Awesome brakes man, I'm going to be looking for a set of these over the winter, pity i dont have the cash for them just now, how much will the rest of the kit cost to get it to fit an escort cossie??

you couldn't buy even the road version cp5555 kit for that price and these are proper racing calipers



i guess some of you don't know what your looking at

I bought a pair of Cp5555 calipers (min 356mm disc fittment) and a pair of 356mm x36 mm 48 vain 12 groves discs none floating /ds2500 pads brackects ,bells ,bolts just over 2k and mine are just road version

if these were about i would have broke your arm to have get these calipers

You best fit some decent sticky rubber like Porkies 3dr otherwise you'll find out how bad the ABS is (unless you disconnect it)!

The Pro5000+ range doesn't use dust seals.
I've had AP race 4pots (no dust seals) on my RS500 for 9 years without a problem, loads of other peeps on here run race calipers on the road too without having seized pistons so yes i'd say they were suitable. If you use aggressive brake pads then i'd make sure you clean the dust off the pistons when you change the pads otherwise yes it can build up and seize.

If I were only using upto a 362mm disc then i'd probably buy the road calipers (CP5555) as they're slightly cheaper but very similar to the above.
NO AP road caliper takes a 378mm disc so you could say thats why these are better!

The CP7040 AP road caliper is also very good value for money but are each 0.9kg heavier than the CP5555 (with 180mm mounting).

AP told me that if you use the road calipers for racing the dust seals can be damaged (split) by excessive heat and would therefore no longer be effective.

I originally bought these calipers and discs to go on my everyday work Mondeo ST220, 15,000 miles & 2 'ring trips a year so I don't think John will have a problem with his road / trackday Sierra.

 

hello ,is this sturt walker if so i had a t34 and an alcon 6 padled of you a few years back, iam looking for some 6pots as the ones i have can not be repaired so i have been told ,cp3796-131d titanium pistons,i have new ap disks and bells for my 2wd saphire cosworth and mounting so all i need is some used or new calipers,if you have any thing of interest please let me know,cheers andy

Deffo not the case , the Cp5555 there are 2 types apart from leading and trailing

one of the Cp5555 calipers can use upto a 378/380 providing that you use the ones that requires a minimum of 355 disc

the other Cp5555 only has a max 355 disc and minimum 330 disc

Hiya Andy, yes it is mate, so whats wrong with your calipers as in why can't they be repaired, any pics??? Shame if its true as CP3796 are great calipers. I take it you've got 355x28mm discs?


Marco, I really hope your right but are you sure, AP state 2 sizes:

355-362mm or 330-355. I've never had a CP5555 caliper in my hands so i'll take your word for it, i'll ask AP for a layout drawing as I hope to use a pair with 378's both front and rear

it does say that in the book 362 mm max that is to cover themselves you can fit 378/380 dics no problem and the pads still cover all the discs
