Default starting a restoration!!

As of today i am taking my frst of the road for restoration as i feel it'll be a wase of money if i let it just rott away. so here is some pics before i started to stripit and where i am up to (not far as i just started) lol ive only got part of the side skirts of then it started to rain lol.

Heres a few pics from when i first got it:

I just took a few other pics of engine bay few bits of minor rust under engine will be coming out and sold to make way for a 2.1 zetec turbo and engine bay freshly painted with some powdered coated goodies

After taking off the passenger side skirt i soon notice a new seal would be required as it had a little rotten patch and a hole (see pic)

but on the bright sider the drivers side looks v.good indeed, need to take plastic arches off now for inspection lol

yep on my drive lol, i cut out the section of rotten seal and treated it to stop rust spreading till i have a few Ł to get a couple of new seals welded on, how much should i be looking to pay to have a pair fitted? im thinking of stripping the car totally and getting the shell shot blasted to kill all the rust and get a nice finish, good idea? or waste of money?

You can get a pair of NON GENUINE sills for about Ł30 a pair.Get a MOBILE WELDER to your house for about Ł30 an hour.Should take a couple of hours = aboutŁ100 all in.This would be the cheapest option. As for stripping the shell and shot blasting, wouldn,t reccomend this if your doing it all on your drive. You really need a unit to carry out this sort of restoration.I,d just strip the major parts off BUMPERS,SEATS,BODYKIT E.C.T and find all rust and cut out and replace,If your on a budget. If youv,e got plenty of MONEY then i,d replace every ROTTEN PANEL...I;E NEW WINGS,NEW QTRS E,C.T.

i ment get it shot blasted at a garage up the road which is reasonably priced im not doing it on drive i just had it on my drive when iwas doin the work yesterday, got most of the rear arch off and looked solid, from what i could see the only rotten bit was at the bottom which a new seal would replace lol, what do you thinkof the shot blasting now?

Trouble is when you shot blast it can uncover a load of rot.If you get it done be prepared to do alot of bodywork or you might be lucky.
