Does anyone know of any Series 1 turbo's for sale for under a grand ? I need one for a project....to be honest bodywork doesn't matter at all. I've tried for about 2yrs on/off to find one and it aint happening.

I've already missed out on 3 by no more than a week so they are available under a grand !

 

They are out there but will be absolute shitters in need of either breaking or requiring a lot of work to bring them back up. Decent S1's start from about £3k and can go up to £5k for a really very sweet example

 

TOP MAN!!! Have to give you credit, good to see someone willing to take on such a restoration. Shame when someone breaks a series 1. I saw a shell going for £250 on the net a few weeks ago (01202 547070 @ the RS Turbo Breakers), not mint but with id, just the shell so i guess not much use to you. Keep a look out on ebay, see the rare rotter going on there cheapish. Good luck mate

gbarrett: I know where there will be one coming up in the next few months, may be slightly over £1000, but will also have all parts required for a rebuild (mechanics-wise & interior, glass, etc).

Sorry Mate , no pics - i was browsing the breakers sites and came across an advert for the shell, description only, not even the reg details. Only way to get the information would be to call them on the number above.

Thanks guys you've been a great help...i'll give that number a call tommorrow. I dny mind if its a bit of a scrapper to be honest, i work in a coachworks so........ ! Also i think you get more enjoyment seeing somthing slowly taking shape.

Try RS Turbo Parts For Sale.... "S1 (member/author) is breaking one, shell £150 - mite be worth a look if your willing to go down that route and build one from scratch.

This would make a wicked resto project mate.....
