Default Heat Shielding

I am 90% (i hope) finished with my project car. Not a Ford... but im having issues im sure people here have experienced and can help me with.

I am having problems with the amount of heat coming off my stainless exhaust manifold. Problem is its up high compared to the original which only came up half way to the block. The car was similar to an RST in layout originally, but now the turbos more top right instead of bottom left.

The air comes off the manifold, cooks my rocker box and worse still heats the inlet manifold right up. Not really going to do much good to my ACT's.

Anyone got any experience of heat wrap and how good is it? I have a pack and tried it on a rad pipe and whilst it works perhaps i was expecting too much. Also its a bit annoying I am supposed to paint it since im not taking the manifold off.

Also anyone know somewhere (pref local to essex) that makes custom heatshields?

Any other ideas or suggestions to stop the heat being in all the wrong places!

Thanks

Paul

i used the heat wrap on my tubualr manifold! the manifold cracked a lot so i have left it off this time to see if that curse the problem!

i thnk the best thign for u to do would b get the manifold ceramicly coated! it aint cheap but fook me it works! can cut the temps by somethin like 40%

as for heat sheild he ain local to u but lee @ fusion did some custom 1s for me i just desribed what i want & he took iot from there!

Lee made a custom heat shield for me last week, shields the crossover pipe but still leaves ample space for heat fro the exhaust manifold to escape

I just wish id know about the coating before the manifold met my engine. Think a shiny heatshield is the best option then.

Anyone know where to get head insulating washers from? Ive got an exhaust manifold support bracket which goes back to my head and that gets more than a touch warm.
