Ginge you forget a Cosworth particualary an RS500 is a piece of history that will only appreciate...a porsche 996 can only loose value...and are very boring IMO!

a mate of mine is selling his scooby type r and buying a tvr cerbrra as he discovered there the same price,,,,,,, literally that was how he seen it straight away

thing is u do have to argue that a tvr isnt the most reliable car compared to a scooby, unless is it only gona be his weekend toy? if so then fair enough. i agree theres shit loads of nice cars out there for 20k but tbh i cant think of anything that really sticks in my mind that i would choose if some1 gave me the money and told me to choose right now. i would prob end up sayin a mint escort cosworth but thats coz ive always wanted one.

 

pete ive owned fords for year mate, infact nearly all my cars have been fords and i also own a cossie too, bet you dont even own a cossie as a personaly car you use for fun


now lets see reality here for a moment

for a car that can be used and abused a rs500 aint gonna hold its value at all, in 20 years time its gonna have cost more in maintanace than most other cars


ive spent over 10k on my cossie, bought loads of crap for it, every nut and bolt under the engine bay is brandnew from fords same a s all the jubalee clips and general clips too


and my bmw is a much better car in everyway apart from the speed aspect, thats when my cossie IS more fun


20k on a ford sierra is mental, just like a bloke i knowdad who has classic cars he never uses , cars from the 1930's to 1950's, there just objects to him

driving a cossie is the BEST experience you can have imo and everyone should have that for a while

but when they brake down the feeling you get in you tummy is just bollox and everyone apart from pete has had that ( cause pete just books another holiday that we fund for him )


the RS scene is the best scene i been about though, i find that the peple are class people and thats why i loive using this site

very few people would pay 20k for a rs500, then when they do they either never use it like its ment to be or then get scared of it and sell up ( until such a time as they cant sell then yet another 500 gets "stolen" and never seen again )


please dont think im cunting the cossie off, im not, ive just found theres nicers everyday cars about for the money these days that we used to dream about when we was saving for our first cossie

Just for the record mate NO ONE FUNDS me I run a business and quite sucesfull as well, this seems to hurt you somewhat that I make a living through RS cars,why I havnt quite worked out yet

Exactly my thoughts too m8.

 

If it was the one on carwise stand today at national day I wouldn't pay 20k for it, Its probably had a lot of money spent on the engine but I thought there were to many of the original RS500 parts missing off it I am sure you would get a better one for that sort of money.

 

 

in the pic in fast ford it says rs500 but has foglights in bumper?

if anyone know of a car for 35k or below what is different and quick, won't get used everyday as the person who wants it has 6 other cars for that job.
