ive tried before to use/download torrents but i aint got a fookin clue, they never seem to work.
I just stick to limewire but a few people seem to be using torrents.

downloaded and installed, went on a torrent site and clicked on a torrent i wanted, saved to disk. then went to open it with bittornado but it says...

couldnt listnen - unable to forward port via UPnP

Try rebooting your computer and also if you have a firewall you will need to configure it to allow btdownloadgui access.

 

rebooted and changed firewall settings but still no...

btw when i click save to disk it just does it instantly, as if there was nothing downloaded but it is still where i saved it to. doesnt seem right to me

You open the file you downloaded to start the torrent (usually 10kb to 120kb in size)

 

With bittorrent I just select 'Open' nad it runs straight away

What kind of speeds do people get using bittorrent.. I can only manage 21KB/s at the moment.. Have a 10Mb connect to the internet too..

The reason i say its better is because everyones told me anything else uses alot of system resources

 

I had utorrent but prefer shadow experimental as it seems faster on my system. An 800mb file in 18mins will do me.
