Default Engine Rebuild - (but going EFI)

Whats the best way?

My engine is a good engine but will at some point need a rebuild, and i wanna restore her to looking the muts nuts again. engine, bay, etc.

Its done just under 70k but has been well used in the past lol. i dont want to rebuild that engine i want to start a fresh, so i can still drive her in the meantime etc. its going to be a slow little project so will be done for next summer.

Now what should i do. I want to make it a stronger engine than standard but not OTT.

Do i buy a fooked FRST engine but has a good block or what?

Havent a clue so would like ya imput please

i know i will have to buy the EFI bits as she is still MFI at the mo

Why not rebuild you bottom you have already got and then the know you have a strong bottom end, cos at the end of the day all rs bottom ends will be old and you will rarely find a strong one ready to use.

Noisy Boy reason i wanna use another engine is to give me something to do but keep mine going for now. but replce everything in the new engine new (if i can) lol

Rick i got 200bhp 220lb/tq with a foooked actuator at the mo. but tbh not much more than that again. just want to go EFI (bit of a flutter lol) few stronger bits than standard and something for me to do as a project

oh ok mate well you still dont need a frst bottom end either way S2 or a frst if your going to rebuild it there no need to worry my son! If you have no worry about getting a knacked one you can get one no problems.

Fiesta management is prob a little easier to fit, but it's a bit cack - but will see u to around 220-230 hp. A fiesta block has the flywheel and CPS in the block for this, and it's quite neat. Cossie management gives u far more scope, u can use ur existing block, and use 1800cvh cps and pulley for timing info to the ecu. Cossie management requires a custom mounted cam sensor, but gives better economy imo than OFAB/C. You will need either a fiesta head - or if urs is good - a spacer to mount the injectors in.
