Default Bit of advice thanks

Coming back from sunny Wales in my S2 the other day when i noticed a strange whistling noise coming from the engine and could smell burning oil in the car pulled over to have a look but nothing seemed wrong so carried on bit further down the road started to get a really loud knock and lots of smoke (white and blue ) and the motor seems to only be running on three. Manage to get home with it but will not tickover and is bellowing out smoke would you recommend full engine out strip job or just try to get it going while its still in? Have taken off the boost pipes and the shaft in the turbo is just flapping about so i know thats goosed just don't want to put a turbo on and have it do it again. Did suffer from low oil pressure previous to this happening. Any advice would be welcome or if anyone knows of a good second hand engine for sale point them in this direction thanks

If its had low oil pressure i think it would probably be a fair guess to say the bottom end will be fucked aswell, and more than likely the top end........as a result
