i thought the only cossies ( in saph guise) was a 2.0 turbo?

Its a conversion, a 2.9 v6 24valve grannie engine put in a xr4x4......

or sierra estate........

Cosworth Engineering did have an XR4x4 test mule fitted with the 24v lump as Ford considered dropping the FBA motor in the 4X4 Saff to replace the YB due to the number of warrenty claims on the original 2wd Cosworths. I know this for absolute fact as I bought the test mule direct from Cosworth.

It was a riot and without doubt the best £2500 car I have ever had. It went very well too with different cams and an EECIV manual program

even more i was allways stuck with the auto ecu and cams
