Default WRC - Loeb :)

Misure Loeb after winning the German rally is now on an even par with the all time rally graets for the number of WRC wins.

When he wins his next one hw will beat the current record of 26 WRC wins. there are the likes of Carlos Sainz, Colin McRae, Tommi Makkinen, Yuhar Kankenen (sP ).....

but its his number of wins per number of rallies entered thats impressive, obout 34% of all the rallies he's ebterd he's won, compare that to the likes of carlos at about 11% makes him pretty damn good.

he was flying on that last stage.

what has happened to all the other manufactures aswell?

citroen 1,2&4 ford 3&6 then 1 pug, 1 scooby and 1 skoda in the top 8

whats happened to everyone?!?!

He's the Scumacher of WRC imo seems too smug not friendly like say Gronholm Solberg etc.

Have never liked him.

He only got into rallying recently as well. Was a professional gymnast before he started rallying. Guy's extremely talented. Got alot of time for him. Can't wait till he gets the new Factory C4

The guy is very talented but does not appear as approachable as Gronholm.Solberg etc , i to would liken him the Schumacher,

I also do not think there is the same level of driver competion as in years gone by which has helped him no end,

But no disputting if i could drive like him i would be very happy

Mike

Its true that he has won a very high % of the races he's entered but thats not quite the full picture. He's exceptionally talented at keeping the car out of the scenery but there are alot less manufacturers in WRC these days and less serious competition, more reliability. I think he's been lucky to be in a very good car with very high reliability as well as being talented. he may be good but he doesnt exhibit much falri in his driving. I'd rather watch McRae any day of the week.

As above i'd prefer to watch the Mcraes any day ! Is Loeb as stuck up as we all think and unapproachable ?

Who would be quicker over a rally if there was no electrical gizmos it was totally down to the driver and a basic car EG MK2 Escort or a grp B car with no active diffs, no launch control and anti lag systems, no traction control or ABS.

My personal veiw either C Mcrae, J Kankenen, T Makinen or H Mikola

what was it that murray walker said about martin brundell, " if it wasn't for bad luck, he'd have no luck at all!"

Came back from Germany yesterday..... another awesome event

Loeb is indeed a very talented man. Always fast and never makes mistakes. Also has luck on his side..... when a Citroen breaks down, it's always his teammate... never his car. (that could also have something to do with driving style)

Anyway.... I'm working on my picture's at the moment, so expect a big post in the next few days. For the moment, here's a taster for you...

I've just got back from the WRC myself....couple of pics of the man in question:

He is just so smooth he never looks fast but always is!! Its as though he drives at 90% and makes no mistakes and everyone else drives at 110% to try and keep up but make lots of small mistakes to loose time!!

Either you like car crashes, or, you like short lived events, McRae is indeed spectacular, but he usually ends up in a ditch, a tree, on the roof, etc...

Whereas Loeb looks like he's not even trying and finishes most events

I don't like Loeb, ruined rallying from my point of view. There is no competition any more, he wins everything. I've even stopped watching it. He seems to have no personality either, plus he seems to get all the luck.

WRC has gone downhill in the last few years IMO. I used to love it, watch every event on TV, go to Wales Rally GB everyyear, etc. Don't bother now.
