Hi there, apart from my RS i also have 1999 escort diesel van but when I put the heater on warm it doesnt blow out warm air or rather it does for a second or 2 but then basically blows out cold air.. I have been told it is the heater matrix so was wondering how to change it? Any tips are appreciated, also if anyone has 1 for a 1999 escort van let me know? Cheers

 

If I was you I would disconnect the two water hoses that go to it and flush it out. and see weather the water passes through it. as the matrix dont normally block up.

Hi mate, thanks for that but how exactly do I do that? Do I need to take the dash off or can I do it in the cab quite easily? Any help is great thanks

 

You do it from the engine bay. disconect the hoses that pass though the bulkhead. and sick a hose pipe up one of them and see if the water passes thought the matrix.

Any chance you could tell me exactly which pipes I need to disconnect and where to shove the hose pipe and where the water should come out? Also if the water does come out then why else would warm air not come out of the heater panels? Thanks
