Default stu help!

need some advice, ive have a problem with the boost dropping off, i thought it was a dodgy actuator at first so replaced it with a new one...still the same, had a look at the hose from the turbo intake to the metering head, thought it was collapsing so cut it back slightly (too much material on it so it was bent more like an "S" instaed of a "~", if you get what i mean)

still doing it, now the only thing that i can think of is that the seal on the compressor housing is leaking, the car goes up to 15 psi...then starts to drop off until 7-10psi, any ideas?

i think its a leak to be honest as its not doing it at a set rpm, as when it drops off to 7/10psi, you can take the foot fully off the pedal press it to the floor and it will come back in at 15 psi then drop off again

its an 89 erst

cheers in advance

id check all your bosot hoses and vacum hoses.

a mate of mines xr2 turbo (a11 xrt) was doing this exact thing....would hit 15psi...then drop down to 5-7psi. just randomly started......didnt use it for a while and its fine now.

id check all boost hoses though mate

ive checked all the boost hoses, they seem fine, only one that was suspect was the turbo intake hose, its got a new intercooler as well so its not as if its that was leaking

knackered amal?
knackered compressor housing seal?
checked the shaft for play and it seems fine, about 1 mm of movement side to side

any other ideas?
