Default important note about the AA

has anyone else bothered to read the new t's and c's for the AA?

they wont cove any car over 10 years old for roadside relay unless they are currently on the scheme (mine is ) so that basically rules out ALL ford cosworth variants

dont know if RAC green flag etc are going to follow suit?!

whats the deal with this then?

thought the person was the member, not the car.

i have been with them for 6 years now, but they dont know i have the cos, cos i havent used them for it yet (touch wood)

can someone explain.

they dont ask you what car you own, before you join, surely???

Another sneaky trick they play is that if you have the top cover (the one where you get a hire car or a hotel, take your car anywhere in the country, etc tec....). You can oly use 6 call outs a year!!! What a load of sh*t!!

I was with them witth the top cover last year and got a letter in the post saying that i'd used all of my call out?? Never said f*ck all to me about that when they were taking £170 of my money!!!

Yet I asked and they said that if i took the regular £35 roadside assist (drive you off the motorway type) you can have as many call outs as possible???

Can't work this world out!!!!!

Now with Green Flag, No problems!![/quote]

Bollocks to the AA, they are just too big a company now to care about older cars. Wont be renewing this year anyway as they are overpriced.

They have also dropped legal assistance.

I used to always decline the offer of paying the extra £20 or so on top of your car insurance premium for the Motorist Legal Cover thing, as the AA would and could do this for you.

Not any more

Been a member since last November, already called them out three times and been spot on each time. Got Option 400 cover for less than £15 a month (badgered the bloke till he gave in). Free European cover for the first year, which is cool.

Just rang them and they said its true for all new customers but existing ones cars over 10 years are covered and will be after renewal as well, so I'll be staying.

The 6 times a year thing is a bit shit, but realistically (for me anyways), the cars are well maintained so don't expect to get to 6 callouts. The 3 I've had were for minor things that I couldn't be arsed to do myself.

Cheers

Matt
