Default new Z06 Corvette

I saw one parked up at the local hospital today and in the flesh its a very pretty car. The pix on the web don't do it justice.
I had a check up appt with my consultant and noticed the small picture of the Corvette on his office wall and it turns out the Z06 is his.
Just gotta blag a drive in it now

gun metal grey, personally as I drive Left hand drive everyday I wouldn't change it, think its alot better than RHD. when the swap thm over they loose alot of feel, even back to the E30 beemas, the brakes became very vague as theres so much linkage to take the slack up from.

Its only the LHD issue that I can fault...other than that I'm smitten and gagging for a test drive in one.
The link to the RHD conversion firm claim the mirror everything inc the bulkhead so there shouldn't be any nasty linkages *hopefully*. I see that only the drivers seat has all the electric stuff and it isn't a factory option to have the passenger seat with the gizmo.

I have got to test drive one ASAP.
I test drove a 997tt recently and it was amazing but in some ways too accomplished and easy to drive.
I'm now wondering if I should sell my option on the UberBeetle and get a 'vette instead plus save myself a few quid.....Hmm....a twin turbo Z06 would be FUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Depends on the brand, I have various accounts with US companies now.

We do alot of mustang/lightning and corvette work, basicaly late model American I will take on but not interested in early stuff, We also do alot of VW's, Cossies and various other Track cars, very little drag racing stuff other than my own now. Although I do have a full chassis build for a street eliminator car coming up soon.

A fully loaded 2007 model is $75k so 40k Sterling
An official import is round the 60k Sterling mark so IIRC a personal import would be around 50k Sterling when there is a model report.
Thats a bargain

If I can't talk my consultant into giving me a shot in his I'm tempted to have a shopping weekend in New York and grab a test drive.
I cant fault you going for a Mustang. I had a drive in one and just loved the way it pulled from nowhere and the noise....what a noise

oh the sound of a lovely v8 or bigger!music to my ears! up there next to ferrari 360 note and a bit of cossie compressor surge!
all this talk has me thinking of not rebuiding mine and waiting for the challenger to come out!that should be 500hp as well not sleak like the vette but a nice retro style muscle car and should be round 30kish i think in pounds.

The big 40 in Nov so I am deffo in MLC territory but you have a good decade to go
When I was 19 I very nearly bought a 6.6 Trans Am (the plan was to insure it in my Moms name) but the deal fell through when I hit a telegraph pole then rolled my Moms 5 month old Golf GTI
I drove a few 60's and 70's muscle cars over the years and the way they drove didn't impess me tbh.
The new Camaro looks the part but its the LS7 motor in the 'vette thats got me interested - http://www.chevrolet.com/pop/corvette/ls7_engine_en.jsp

40 aint old! well when i hit it i'll prob still be acting like i do now.spose you are right on the old skool muscle,i do like some creature comforts too. the engin in that vette is meant to be a proper weapon.and for a change to the norm the new vette is meant to handle rather good now too.they are very pretty too.i now think they look very similar to the new viper.im sure you will be impressed if you take one out.

The Aussie APS kits seems to be very well rated on the 'vette forums and their Z06 kit is being tested at the moment. I am not planning on buying a new car till next year so I have a while to get a drive in a 'vette but the more I am looking into it the more its appealing.

I know mate. one of my mates has got a 74 firebird formula 400 and we always give him shit for having racing leaf springs racing and leaf springs are just 2 things that shouldnt really ever go together. Handles pretty damn well though with decent suspension on it. when he gets it back from being restored it will have subframe connectors etc fitted as well so should be even better
