Default rocker cover gasket.

whats best to use on the rocker cover gasket.

i have both a genuine ford cork and rubber gasket, but which is best to use? i have heard storys on both of them.

i replace the cork one every time the cover is off - it's cheap and that doesnt happen v often. Never had a leak.

yeh cork ones r about £3

rubber ones can be re-used tho

I'd go for rubber, they work fine (off a 1.8 cvh btw) and can be re-used as many times as you want!

I have a rubber one with no problems

the cork ones with the little metal pins either side of the bolt holes are best. over tightening becomes less likely to cause leaks, to be honest its best to just trial and error

rubber one's best as it can be used again doesnt squash and cork goes brittle with heat
