Dont no whether im gonna regret this or not, but the love affair with the cossie has slowly been going lately and tonight has been the icing on the cake. TOTB didn't help either
Apart from the damm oil leak on the cams i can't seem to stop the car has just cut out again and the wiring from the ECU to the battery has just burnt out
Again thanks to Robbie (Diva) and DazC for the help
Most of you no the spec but for some who dont here goes......
New 200 block honed to std bore size,Weight matched Mahle pistons at std C/R,Crank and rods lightened and dynamically balanced,ARP bolts throughout,HP 4x4 oil pump with 4x4 pickup,Fully rebuilt Std head by Brom@Zoo with new guides, recut seats etc, etc,Inlet cam modded for WRC type phase sensor pickup(coilpacks)...All cometic engine gaskets with new style multi-layer WRC type cometic head gasket,Surface ground flywheel with new 6 paddle sintered plate and std cover, New water pump..Etc Etc..... T3/04(Big turbo escos) turbo fully rebuilt with 360 bearing etc...3 Bar map,803`s,Rs 500 Cooler and ally rad,all silicone hoses,044 fuel pump. 18" RL7's/17 Comps, 330mm AP's 300mm Rears, Fully poly bushes, Koni's etc.
Maybe im having a bad day but if someone came with the money once i put it right id snap there hand off. Sounds like a for sale post but it aint
Im in that catch 22 situation as i dont think i could break it but dont think i could see someone else having the enjoyment out of it.
Arrrrrrggggghhhh what the fook do i do. RANT OVER

Been there many times mate so know the feeling lol
Don't do anything hasty but just pull the garage door down and forget about it for a few days and then see how you feel.
Sometimes in life its nice to have a good clear out and start afresh and maybe its your time right now as regards the car? Sleep on it pal and if you still feel the same way in a few days put it back to standard and sell all the bling/sporty bits and sell the car on

Ditto B9COS and SPADGE Paul, just leave it for a wee while and then go back next week and see how you feel.
Thats what i done with the Escort after my little Oil Cap incident
just locked it up at my folks place and never seen it for 3 months. Walked into the garage on Christmas day and thought right lets get you back on the go for summer. Must say, that few months did the trick
$hit news but i hope you make the right decision. Only you can decide M8 whats best.

I know exactly how you feel mate. I've just moth balled mine now for a while, but that still hasn't stopped me spending a small fortune on rear beam, billies and a tremec box ffs
I've lost al interest in it at the mo', but nothing can replace a Cossie for me, so she will be resurected (sp) some time in he next decade.
I woud say keep it mate, just get a cheap runaround for now
PS. Did you save me them doorcards?

I though about selling mine a few months back, even had the for sale ad on here and everything. After it sat in my garage for a week or so I got itchy feet, went outside, dragged her out, washed polished and just couldn't bring myself to sell it.
As a few have already said mate, a week away from it just changes your perspective a touch.

chin up Paul.
all cossie owners have been there and done it.
just put it away and buy a run around for work and then you will realize how good your cossie is when you drive it the weekends etc...
only broke a few time ffs,not the end of the world.
now just fix it and stop crying over it.

Cheers for the comments folks i'll see how the next few days go.
Wow, Sticky! Never would have seen this coming. I like your car a lot, mate. But at the end of the day, nothing lasts forever.
Thing is, what would you buy instead? Are you sure you'd enjoy anything else as much?
Only thing I could see you doing would be as Rick says, sell it and build another!
Otherwise I reckon you'd be better off keeping it. But as said, take a time out and have a think.
Best of luck with whatever you decide, Paul

The time does come though when you think it's time to move on.
I've decided after considerable thought & soul searching, that after 6 fantastic years of owning my escos, it'll be going after Nat Day.

My Cossie 4i has been giving me $hit all year
I just put it away for a few weeks / months until the urge to sort it returns.
I have got to take it aprt again now
Keep it, you will only miss it big time.
Steve.

I'd get shot no question.
There's no point clinging on to a lump of metal, once you're bored you're bored.
And end of the day theres plenty more out there if you change your mind, and then it will be something new and exciting again.

You know the score Paul
Have a break from it for a couple of weeks
I told myself mine was getting SORN'd from September this year and that was it.. but i know i;ll want to take it out in the cold dry weather, so am having a rethink!
Getting the 306D last year was the best thing i did: saved me fuel money, saved the s2 from the weather and i was more appreciative when i took the bean tin out
but my parents reminded me nearly everyday, the s2 was costing me about Ł5 a day to be sat there in insurance and RFL and doing nothing
