Default vernier pulley

Hello. Can anyone tell me what is the actual difference between a vernier and a standard pulley and if they are worth upgrading. thanks

A Vernier pulley wheel is effectivly an inner and outer wheel, which can be finely rotated and then locked up to give accurate timing .

Standard wheels can only ever get to the nearest tooth.

If you have specced cams that need a fine tune then a vernier will help acheive that result.

If everything is standard then you wont really get a lot of gain from it apart from it being lighter.

To help others here's mine on the 16v engine

The black bit in the centre is effectivly 1 wheel, and the blue bit the second. There are marks and pointers located on both to help you set the degrees.

cvh's are v sensitive to cam timing, and cams are never ground that accuratly, so if ur tuning an engine it's a must.

Rick
Love the motor in the sig fella.

I think I gonna give it a go. Seems a good and most probably a sensible mod for power.
