Hello, my clutch cable snapped this morning and i need a new one but not sure which one?? My escort started life as a 1100cc but now has a 2ltr pinto and type 9 5 speed box. Im guessing that a cable listed for an rs2000 would be fine?? yes u can laugh at me if this is a silly question!

You can just use an escort one. My bf dean is putting a 2 litre pinto into a mk2 escort (but his is an estate) which started life as a 1.1 litre. He used his old one on his pinto. Dont believe u need an rs2000 one

 

u would be better of with an rs cable as there a bit longer to clear the exhaust manifold

 

If you have the standard rs2000 cast exhaust manifold with twin downpipe you should be ok
if you have a 4-branch you really need the long one to stop it touching

 

Also check which connection you have on the back of the pedal?
LOnger is always best, speedy cables can make custom ones also.
