it explains the principles behind the metering head design and is a very good read

think basic principle is:
Throttle opens, engine sucks in air, causing vacuum,
vacuum cause metering flap to be pulled down
metering head flap\arm pivot is connected to a push rod system i.e (i.e flap goes down, rod goes up.
rod allows fuel flow through, futher down the flap goes higher the rod goes allow more fuel.
think thats the basic principle
