Default Please help really smokey engine....

Ok so I bought a cossie replica with a fiesta efi rs turbo conversion in it. Problem is it really smokes.... When its running it smokes that bad that if you lift the bonnet the turbo is obviously getiing oil in it as the manifold smokes like mad.... Isi t the turbo? Will it be the valves? Or just a fu*ed engine? When I drive it there is loads of smoke from the exhaust and the smell is very oily... Any ideas as to what it might be is grealtly appreciated??? Thanks

If the boost hoses have excessive amount of oil in them this will confirm that the turbo has gone

also could be valve steam seals or piston rings, also cause smoking

im asuming the color of the smoke is blue??

if the manifold is smoking could be the rocker cover gasket leaking and dripping onto it (as ive just changed mine for same propblem)

As said could be rings, stem seals, dropped valve guides or the turbo, or a combination!!

Compression test would help the process of elimation greatly

Default re smoking

Well the turbo is actually a new one so I dont think its that... The smoke comes out of the turbo when I rev it under the engine bay... The smoke to be honest seems to be more white than blue.... How do you know if the valve stems have gone? I was gona take the head off this weekend and have a look at things. Are CVH engines pretty much the same if they are EFI or MFI? Is it just the head that is different for the coil pack? What should I be looking for? If take it a compression test will it confirm if its te rings or not? Once again thanks
