took my RST down to MOT centre this morning

said they cannot MOT it for me as i have removed the ABS

it has passed like that for the last 4 years, but now becuase of the new MOTs, it already states this car must have ABS,

whereas on the old ones the MOT tester could select if the car had ABS or not.

what do i do, Ford fair is in a week n my car is on show

Go back to the garage and tell them to stop being cunts!!

If thr ABS has been completely removed they cant fail it!!!

Ring VOSA!! And ask them about it, i bet they tell you the same, then you can mention what a cock the bloke at that garage is and they might check him out

would have to agree with safechav, mot tester talkin bo**ocks.I work in mot test station and we test 8 a day and there is no reason to refuse to test.so phone vosa ask for local inspectorate to go to station and he will test the vehicle then tester will have to explain why he refused to test.
Good luck

Cawood

technically it's hard to call

Easiest thing: goto a garage, and have a word with the mot tester - tell hiim it's removed cos it's shit

I promise he will agree with u, and pass the car. It's a power thing - he wants to please u now u've introduced urself, and acticely seeked him out. job done

Stuff replacing the pipes. Buy some goodridge -3 hose and fittings and replace the pipes with that. It lasts forever, doesn't need bent to shape and means less potential leaks.

What break pipes have failed?

Solid or flexi to start with?

dont think its the flexi ones as i replaced them small flexi ones about a year ago with goodridge jobbies

does that mean it will be the main ones that run down the car?

More than likely.

Its common for the pipes where they meet the flexies to corrode, due to salt/rain etc.

You can just get a copper pipe made up to length and you bend to shape, very easy and they are a lot better than the factory stell items, with one downside (which is the reason i won't have them):

They look pants because you can't get them to look nice and straight etc (im a fussy cunt)

Which is why I said to get stainless braided flexi hose. Demon Geeks sell it and all the fittings you would need.

£120

The brake pipe is about £7.50 for 25 meters and a flaring tool around £25

You could do the job yourself for under £40.

Or spend £400 on braided stuff

Exactly my point!!

Braided looks very bling but its sooooooo expensive. If you're not a fussy cunt (unlike me) buy the copper hose, you could get a motor factor to flare for you

13 metres of hose, 2 banjo fittings for the rear calipers, 10 male fittings for master cylinder and calipers - £135. Will last for longer than the car, less likely hood of leaks, and a lot cheaper than buying the short goodridge ones.

If anyone thinks £400 is the cost, give me a shout and I'll do them for you for £350

So you're saying £135 to do the whole braking system in braided hose?
