Default Had a head bolt fail on me today (pic inside)

Luckily i realised it was about to fail before things turned serious.

Its a brand new Heavy Duty ZVH conversion bolt rated at 12.9

When i got to 30lb torque i could feel something was not quite right so took it out.

Could have been a right pain if it had of snapped.

Did you oil it before putting it in?

Yeah was properly oiled,

Cleaned and tapped the thread in the block first etc as well, made sure there was no oil or water to give me hydralic problems either,

Must have just been a dodgy bolt as ive had loads of these in the past and never a problem.

Sorry, peteh had put it on my white worktop with flash on.

Matt.

Well done .
