Can gearbox oil leak out from the gearlever area on a 2wd T5 box?

I assumed it would be the rear oil seal, but after looking today I can see the shaft + nose of the prop are bone dry.







Doesn't show to brilliantly now as I wiped most of it off.

Why would it leak from there ?

 

I believe there is a breather thing up there Wyn with a little plastic cap on it! If this has fallen off it will leak from there me thinks!

 

Good idea Spadge, I just went n checked the spare box I got n that does have the breather, but its midway along the box n this is deffo from the tail end.
To look at this deffo appears to have come up from below the small rubber lever gaiter (as pic) itself



The rest of the box is dry btw.

 

Hmmm ok well whip that lid thing off and re-seal it then
