Mk1 Escort
Well, finally got the car taxted, tested etc and took it out for a proper drive on Monday evening and then took it home to get some pics for the insurance company
Drives really well but it doesn't like potholes
Just got the castrol stripes to put on and the Compo split rims and then it's just about done and should look similar to the car in my avatar

Right, the car has now been taken back off the road and fully prepped for the final paint (Castrol colours )
This is it in primer on Monday evening. With luck it'll be painted tomorrow

Got the white base coat done yesterday but Jacko's ( www.blueovalgarages.com ) having a well earned rest today. Should get the stripes and clear done over the next few days

Thats a lovely mk1, a testament to a lot of hard work!
I was doing one up myself (HBY 99K, 1.1 2 Door 1972, miami blue) but the salvage yard that sold it to me neglected to check whether it was actually owned by someone before "taking" it, needless to say I didn't "own" it for long and after lots of court visits it got returned to the rightful owner (fair one really!). Ah well, one day maybe- Thanks a bunch Bobbing Breakers!

Right here goes
The car was masked out ready for the stripes
On goes the green
Now re mask for the red - sorry about the pic quality I forgot my camera so these are off the phone
And on goes the red
Now the car's fully striped and ready for the lacquer but first the stickers are put on the rear quarters
And here it is this morning outside - pity it's such a grey day but you get the idea.
I am over the foookin moon with it and Jacko (www.blueovalgarages.com) has done a hell of a job. If you need your cars sorting he's the man
