interesting
the reason i asked was i was looking at an RSt bottom the other day that had been rebuilt and the seller mentioned it had a liner fitted into one of the bores.
Why would it need a liner? badly worn bores?

I don't agree, think they are fine. Haven't personally used them, but a friends has just rebuilt his using liners. They are harder wearing than the original iron, and used in all alloy block engines, so i can't see the problem. They're just not cheap.
