Ebay are the only place for the rivets mate, i'm in the know for some at the moment but there only for me, sorry!
Regarding over-riders, not all of them had them on the rear! Depends on exactly when it was registered?
Mine was registered on the 20th November 1985 and mine has them on the front and not on the rear, looks the best and the way it should be!

Does'nt matter when the car was registered, they were an option as said in my previous post
They were fitted to the front as standard but Ford would fit them on the back as an extra if you wanted them

[/b]Rivets ? No you can't - which is why I bought a load when you could still get them and have them safely stashed away
I heard from someone that Ford put the rear one's inside the boot and it was the dealers option to fit them or not?
As i've said I prefer them like mine and MR S1's, with on the front, without on the back

Car advertised when new as Overiders "Front and Rear" i have it here On the Colour Specification sheet. The reason why there missing on the rear is... people have taken them off.

I don't think they were fitted in the first place. I'm sure they were an option. They were probably fitted free if requested. There are too many about with none on to suggest people took them off.
The cars are 20 years old, on most, everything has been taken off, changed renewed, etc, i have pictures of mine at shows with em on, and also with them off.
Like i say The car was advertised new with "Front and Rear overiders" in the Exterior section of the car. Moza knows what they came with to. he can probably give the info to.

Yeah im talking standard. They were made STANDARD with front and rear overiders. What i mean by what i said above, most cars, have been stripped and rebuilt, and some peeps have left them off. People have taken them off due to personal preference.
But yes dan, answer to your question, they were front and back as standard.

Ahh right, thats what i'm getting at!
Might find a set for mine on the rear then? What you think? I prefer them without tbh but want to get it back to near as standard as I can

Front and Back looks the best. It looks weirda having them on the front and not on the back.
You wouldn't have different wheels on the front to the ones on the back would you

name one car that has the same bumpers front and back??????
Hi buddy, You do see alot without the overriders on the back but have been advised by a concours judge they were an optional extra!
My 6K S1 has them on the back and it's totally untouched, even smells brand new inside.
Cheers

There's a few stories surrounding this. None totally 100% verified.
In the sales brochure it states that it has front & rear over-riders as standard fit. Not an option. Some British press pics show them not fitted, but all German brochures show them fitted...
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Some say the assembly line had simply chucked some of them in the boot rather than fit them. Saves them time. Quite easily removed, then lost / not given to the new owner.
To go with that: "A friend of mine who worked at fords at the time said, they were fitted at pdi and came in the boot" (PDI is pre-delivery inspection: a check that the car is ok to go to the new owner for those that don't know)
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Another story is that the assembly line started running out of items, so they started fitting them to the front only to cut down on use.
"speaking to someone who worked on these cars back in the day it was a case of if they had them in the parts bin they were fitted..if they didnt they carried on along the line to save holding it up...sometimes thrown in the boot if remembered later. Seems the rear ones had some delays being made...so it was a case of if they had them, you got them. They still had 2 bins for the Front & Rear.....Front ones had already been allocated and at the time rear ones werent considered as functional or "eye" catching as the front ones. Hence the reason why rear ones were often "forgotten"..due to the lack of them available"
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
You must be Nobby then?
Got loads of pics of your car.

Any chance of the reg for the database pls. Can keep it private if you prefer (you wouldn't be the only one).

Hi, I will get some more pics and post shortly.
Thing you have to remember is this is a genuine 6k untouched car from the day it was delivered so therefore is not gleaming like the concours cars.
Don't get me wrong it's like brand new (even got original Tyres is left the show room on!) just hasn't had things powered coated etc!
Cheers
