alright folks ive got a series 1 rst wich is getting new inner/outer wings,new front cross member, new front pannel etc from one boddy shop then its going to another body shop to get painted but the 1st guy is leavin the body kit off of the front for painting what i want to know is do we paint the body kit on the car or do we paint it off of the car & paint the arches before i fit them also how does the body kit go back on? chears

 

ALWAYS off the car, paint it on the car and it will look fine until something flexes, and then it will all start to crack, and peel etc etc

Painting it off the car also means the rivet holes get painted and will help to stop them rusting, get some waxoil to squirt in the rivet holes before re-assembling aswell

 

its only the front of the body kit thats off at the moment, so does that mean i have to take off the rest of the body kit for paint?

 

I would advise it if you can mate, the less edges there are the less chance of cracking.

However, remocing bodykits off series 1's can usually reveal some hidden surprises
