List Of Group1 Insurance Cars

lemme guess, insure a grp1 car on a "drive any car" policy, and leave it on the drive to rot, so can drive summat with high insurance for peanuts, even if it means putting the quick car in someone elses name
Dodgy as in insuring Group 1 fully comp and the driving RS TP??
Wouldnt bother, insurance will be void if you have an accident. In most cases the other vehicle has to already have insurance present on it. The car would have to be in someone elses name, then how would you tax it??
Not worth the hassle.

This happened to a friend who was driving his RS1600i registered in his Mums name, and then ran someone over.

its illegal coz in the fine print of the insurance policy (infact its probably written in big letters) certain terms n conditions are put forward to stop you doing this kind of thing... this will invalidate your insurance (both on the fake car and the scoob/esccos) if you drive either, then you'll be driving WITHOUT INSURANCE... which is illegal
its only gonna help you if you get stopped by the old bill or summink so that youve got something to "produce" but if you ever had to claim (say you just mowed down 30 toddlers n each parent wnted 1mil compensation) then youre fucked.
bit like not declaring mods on cars... you know you'll be ok if you get tugged by the plod, but if you have to claim... bend over

Can't see how it's illegal. I did this with motorbikes and was running around on my dad's ZZR 1100 when I was 21.
As long as the car exists, and has tax and MoT, then no problem. Checked the small print on my current policy that allows this. The important thing is that you say that you are only a very occasional driver if you have a crash. If you say you are the main driver - you are scuppered.

no i wont be the main driver....ill only have it on like a sunday night or something like that....and the other car i will have will be tax and mot'd....thats what i thought, surely its legal...
Not illegal just not correct
also remember that on the cos the insurance is only for third party NOT fire and theft, but your dad would be mad if he was to say YOU drove it to whereever it was parked when it was stolen/burnt out
The small print that might be the insurance companies get out would be that in most cases on this type of insurance they say, drive any other car "IN AN EMERGENCY", now what they call an emergency could prove different to what u call an emergency
, when u ask most companies when taking out a policy they will say oh that dont mean nowt, but if u was to try and claim then it could come into play.
Mind u, got muggins here that declares everything including bloody nitrous
so all I said may be a load of crap

It's perfectly legal to do this provided it's only for occasional use, brother drives my car all the time.
Just make sure your "first car" actually exists, has an MoT and Tax on it. Prob wouldn't hurt to take it out once in a while either, sounds like the ideal vehicle to take to the pub and leave there till morning instead of the escos!!!
