Default turbo sizes - again!

im sure this has been on before but i cant find the answer doing a search.

my turbo says A/R 60 on the compressor and A/R 48 on the exhaust housing. it also has a 360 bearing and the compressor blades are bent back a bit (i guess this is 'cut back'?)

is this a t3 a t35 a t34 or a hybrid and how many hp etc is it good for? do i need a bigger exhaust housing or summit for more gee gees. stu is mapping it soon and i need to tel him what in it.

any help appreciated

Thats a 0.48 T34. Good for 350bhp with minimal lag.

Leave it well alone.

A 0.48T34 is one of the best setups you can run on a YB. I personally don't rate using the larger 0.63 ex housing on a T34. For the extra lag it gives there are better turbos out there, but a 0.48T34 peaking at 2 bar and holding 1.7 will give super punchy lag free drive and best of all will be reliable and drivable!

considering the inlets ports have been opened up and the change of cams and 7.2 pistons + grey injectors; will this increased braething allow for more than the 350hp you mention as 350bhp appears to be the result of 803s and a 3bar map sensor. have i wasted money on 7.2 pistons for this engine if i use this turbo?

cheers

You won't get the best you could from your spec' & live map with the smaller .48 housing, imo. I'm sure Stu could advise you on this.
