detonating after cam change

Default detonating after cam change

hi i changed my standard cam for a kent one now it runs a bit ruff and detonates at about 4500rpm should i advance or retard?

ignition timing is governed by cam timing, which will have changed. The dizzy needs retarding.

it is goin to be but i am waiting for my new ecu and grs intercooler too turn up first to fit them then get it set up
its the birds birthday on wednesday and i have to take her out and its about a 100 mile round trip and i dont want the thing blowing up on me

no, turn the dizzy towards the fornt of the car! If ur looking at it from the passenger wing, turn it anti clockwise.

As above but to be honest you'd be safer driving it under 5k if you dont want meltdown

quick question on a similar subject,

when refitting the dizzy it slots into the 2 slots, does it matter what one goes into which slot?

it will only go 1 way its offset.
