Holy Fook.....just found why my S1 is miss firing so much.

The bloke who tuned my car has broke one of the injecters of the metering head.

its snapped off.

can you remove one of these:

and buy a new injector to slot on??


or will i have to replace the metering head??

any ideas on what i can do or buy to fix this?? or any web links to the part i need would help.

You can just replace that one pipe. It comes off the metering head and the injector so its just a case of replacing the pipe. The MFi XR3i setupp has the same pipes if you can't get hold of an RS one.

 

Why on earth did he piss about with the pipes anyway..

 

he said i had low fuel pressure which is why the car kept dropping its revs and dying.

he removed the airbox and played with the flap, i went in to answer my phone whilst he strugled to get the box back on.

i sourced a fuel pump off here and booked her in as i was getting some resto and spray work done......started last night and she was putting and struggling, stank off petrol.....so thought stuff it i'll find a tow....then today thought bollocks i will replace the pump myself then found this bugger.

if he would have said "sorry bud fooked up a pipe, few quid off"

that i could live with, but he took my cash and fooked off, car sat for 6 days whilst i done my nights.

he's a tuner in weymouth dorset....i'll find his card and shame em!!!

The XR3i injector pipes are not the same. They are a different shape but can be made to fit.

There should be plenty out there. Many and RST have been broken. Just put a wanted post up in wanted section.

 

alright kai ive got some pipes which one is it ? ie which cylinder does it goto????

surley you can charge him to get that fixed cause he was the one that broke it

 

wish i could get him to pay, but i have no proof.

managed to source a pipe but wont come till monday, Ford have them deleted.

was supposed to garaged wednesday for some spraying and resto work...
had to cancel that now as my engine is soaked in petrol, so i have to clean it all up dont want to ignite up down the road!!!!

 

What a cock-end. I take it the petrol has stopped coming out now, otherwise you could have put a screw up the back end of the injector pipe (it's fooked anyway so inserting a screw wouldn't matter )

Get the car outside with the bonnet up mate: need to clear the fumes as well.
