if the discs are 240mm in diameter then they are the standard 3i 1's

they are std cali's as fitted to all escorts more than 1.3 but less that rst

they look like rs turbo ones to me! but it can be deciving from a pic !!

measure the disc as ian says!

The question is about the calipers....

I can put anything from 240mm (as above) upto 305mm on them - so measuring the disc is pointless.

The size of the piston inside the caliper will tell you.

Surely you have to have RST discs to go with RST calipers I.E XR3i discs wont fit with S2 calipers?

i measured the disks today and there 240mm
could i put bigger disks for a s2 on or would i need ones to fit a s1 and whats the difference with the pad size is there any

Thats what i thought, it obviously looks like one but i thought the discs looked small (damn im good )

You could get some S2 calipers and discs, i believe the S2 calipers are also found on the 4wd sierra's...

so apart from the piston size whats different with the calipers cause i thought they looked the same, could i put disks and pads to fit an rs turbo with these

The caliper also is physically bigger to allow the bigger discs, if you try and put bigger discs on with your current ones they will foul, so you would need brackets to relocate them

I personally would say S2 calipers.

Another common mod is ST170 calipers (or 4wd cossie calipers) with 2wd discs and conversion brackets.... (i think thats right )

Is the size of the hole on the front of caliper a sign of turbo non turbo. Also do the numbers 38, 96 etc.... mean anything?
