Also how far out of the centre is the Airport? Is it reasy to get transport in? If so whats the best?

brilliant place , had my stag do there last year, as for when you land get the railway in the airport, peice of piss excellant public transport, takes about 15 mins to the centre of dam square just about, all i can say its its an eye opener, and i loved it !

 

im going in 2 weeks, been bullied into going by my mates,

as i may not come back out

like said mate get train in drops you near enough straight into the action.

The back alleys n that are fuckin lethal Rhys, some kid was trying to give me a "tester" of coke, it was chalk so I was having none of it so he`s walking along side me for ages giving it the banter n that eventually he gives up n says " fair enough then , just give me the money for the tester" so I politely told him to fuck of.......he only goes and whips a knife out and he`s like pay me what u owe!!!!!!, so Im facing him and as I look over his shoulder theres a guy eavesdropping our arguement and I noticed he had an ear piece, so this scar faced black kid starts to raise the knife and in a shot this bloke comes from behind him and instantly arm locks the bloke , two more come in and take me to one side and lecture me about taking drugs, only plain clothes police werent they

This i can vouch for...I remember standing outside a shop waiting for some mates...had my hands in my pockets especially the one i had my wallet in, and i could feel someone walking past checking my back pockets for my wallet....cheaky fecks. (this was in a busy little side street as well )

Not only that...when i was at college few years back, 1 member of another of our groups got mugged first few hours we were there, held up with a knife..they took his wallet so had no cash the whole week we were there the poor sod


Reckon they can determine the travellers/holiday makers and target them..so just be weiry.

 

"E's, Coke, Viagra".. you will get asked that at LEAST 30 times a night in the red light district.. just act as if you're a local and walk past them.. the moroccans there are real dirty and they run the area.. that's the only bad thing about the RLD really.. Apart from the main 'rings' in the Centraal area, it's all 'back streets' so just be streetwise.. don't argue with them, do not fight them, do not abuse them, or you'll end up in a canal!

But apart from that, it's a real dirty, seedy, fantastic place to go.. If drugs are your thing, do them one day, check the women out the next day, or vice versa.. mixing doesn't work

My Dad used to live there - I like that place

Some cool things to do aside from the usual - take a tour guide type boat trip at night. You can get some good deals, they serve wine and food on some of the canal boats, and you get to see Amsterdam from a completely different perspective - very cool!

 

I think amsterdam isnt all that TBH

been the dam about 8 times and seen some crazy shit! there are some orrible crack ridden freaks knockin about! but to me it wasnt much worse than places like Manchester and Liverpool! Same in any major city,go to the wrong place, give the wrong person abuse and you get fucked!

all the freaks who offer you shit just try to be polite or ignore them!

a scouse lad we went with got lippy with one guy askin for money and loads of em came out the woodwork like rats! there was quite a few of us but before it got messy the old bill came past on bikes and they all did one! Police are pretty on top with it all and know the score!

you will see some stuff, i remember when i first went, my eyes where on stalks, but iv been back again and again!

its good when a game is on or something, we had a good crack in a sports bar! in the afternoon work your way over to the square and see if "football guy" is there! the guy can pull some real impressive tricks, we've seen him most times we've been there...fookin loon climbs up a lampost while doing kick ups! and hangs at the top continuing kick ups, its like its tied to his foot on string!



Forget costs! The dam is an awesome place, be on your guard and you will be sweet mate, ill go again for sure!
