L8ecu do they all have babyboards as standard?

Default L8ecu do they all have babyboards as standard?

just wondered as i got one without board,and others i have seen don't have one too

got an MSD closed loop chip and need to know if i need one of these boards to run it ?or do i just plug into main board?

Yes they need the board. Its virtually a L6 without it.

You shouldnt have said that.
Just wait for people to post if they can convert L6 to L8 by using a
standard babyboard.

No

Uses the same processor but the memory and I/O map is different
and of course you have the lambda sensor interface on the L8
which isnt on the L6.

bollox how much for one of these then?

simon ur L8 chips u supplied me a year+ ago are plugged on standard board and work my mates produced 336bhp on a standard lump at 22psi why would this b if u need a baby board to run them??????????

very very confused now

The baby board is an inegral part of the L8 ecu and is a design after
though by the manufacturer (weber marelli).
It is NEEDED.

The chips I used to supply were simple modified versions of the original
program fitted to the car and so work on the ecu as supplied.
I.E. with the original baby board

The baby board is simply a memory expander as the software on L8
is much more complex than the L6.

The golden rule of all programmers is to fill all available memory even if
it isnt actually needed.
