Pin 4 on the ECU is the tacho output.. unless you have external EDIS, then it'll come from the EDIS module..

ARGH

The dreaded 1.6 Zetec, im in the wars with a similar car as we speak

ok, if youo look in the haynes, page 12.51, diagram 12 "Typical SEFI fuel injection system - post 1995", according to that its pin 4 off the main ECU.

Do you know if you car has an EDIS module under the bonnet?

Look on the right hand side inner wing, there will be plugs there etc, if its got EDIS it will say it, but yours shouldnt have it, so expect not to see one

hi safechav, thanks for taking the time to answer this thread, i too am trying to do the same thing to my 1.4 cvh efi, so it should be pin 4 on the ecu (where would the ecu be? it's a mk6 esc) and what pin does it connect to on the back of the clocks?

Hi and welcome by the way

Have you already researched yourself and found its pin on the ECU on yours then?

The ecu is behind the plastic panel in the passenger side footwell

Add me onto MSN if you want to, i find it easier than posting, its on the MSN button below
