higher speed ram, get a pentium chip not a an AMD, unless you go higher than 2.8 as a 2.8 AMD only runs at about a 2.2ghz.
Graphics card i've always rated and brought ATI, i've currently got a Radeon pro 9800 which seems to do the job.
i would also get slightly higher bus speed RAM. (and go for a good brand name)

as ryan says, go for a intel chip only a 3ghz or 3.2 or something.
up 2 u but if u wanna pop round here and bring ur old machine, most of it will be usable in the new one.
i can get u a price together if u like, order the stuff here or bring it with ya and we'll spend a few hours putting it together.
oh get a 450-500W psu case as well

ok matt are u keeping ur existing screen and those harddrives u mentioned earlier as this will knock a chunk off the price
also cdrw drive and sound card, then basically all u will need is motherboard, case with GOOD fan, processor & processor fan and memory. Oh and the graphics card u decide on.
BTTT 4 matt

unless yoursoundcard is a creative audigy it wont be the danglies for doom 3
