Default Best 2wd coilover suspension ??

Just decided that i will be replacing the suspension on my Saff with coilovers (occasional road and trackday car).

Does anyone else out there have coilovers on a 2wd Saff, if so whats the best make, AVO, SPAX, GAZ. Looking for a quality product that will LAST.

All opinions appreciated, as well as the new suspension the car will be getting Adj TCA's and is already polybushed including suspension top mounts, bolt in roll cage and fully stripped.
cheers
Dave

Costina
Did you have any problems fitting the rear ones up into the turrets. Heard that some are a squeeze/impossible ?
Do you know what the spring rates are on them?

Lhs rear u have to bash(large ball pain hammer) an area 3" by 4" approx only to fit as the spring rubs. etch prime and underbody .

If you can afford it ,buy a set of billies for it,dont bother with polly top mounts just get a set of 909 top spherical bearing top mounts

Avo's rust just as bad as Gaz!

I'd be having a word with Mike Rainbird and see what he recomends and he can spec spring rates for your application

So by the sounds of it all coilovers suffer from corrosion.
Making me think twice about them at all, and go for suspension kit and turn dampers on to MAX setting !!!!!

I think some of the better coilovers are plated to help against rust.
Or you could just copper grease the threads on a regular basis.

Most suspension dampers will rust if there left out in all weathers.

If your going to buy Coilovers speaker to Matt Lewis he does AVO's at a cracking price.

but marco runs his on the road and he says gravel spec as the tarmac ones are to harsh on the road

It wouldn't hurt, tough i know a trackday saph wich has been running stiffass gpn bilsteins (coilover and spherical bearings) for over 8years without a rear strutbrace or reionforcements in the back. No deformormations/cracks/rips to see.

I spoke to AVO, and they don't recon you need any strengthening, but you do have to hammer some of the inner wing at the rear for clearance of the spring.
I'm still unsure what i'm gonna do ???

its because its doubled skinned.
not that much of an issue when they are rose jointed, spacer the bottom of coilover away from body
